WELCOME TO THE PERRAN-AR-WORTHAL CRICKET CLUB HOMEPAGE.
Perran-ar-Worthal Cricket Club is located midway between Truro and the coastal town of Falmouth in Cornwall. Set in rural surroundings and frequently described as one of the most sheltered and picturesque venues in the County, our ground at Tredrea has been the Club’s home since 1903, but according to legend has played host to cricket in the Parish since the early 1850’s. It was formerly used by Tredrea Cricket Club, long since extinct.
The present Perran-ar-Worthal Cricket Club was founded in 1883, and like many a small village club of that era has developed from humble beginnings to become an established part of the Cornish cricket scene today. Throughout the Club’s history fortunes have fluctuated widely; we have enjoyed much success, endured many failures and survived more than the occasional crisis, but perhaps more importantly, we have enjoyed our cricket for over a century and have played an integral part in enriching the lives of the local community.
Though the Club no longer competes with the ‘elite’ in Cornish cricket, we strive to remain competitive and value our reputation as a friendly and welcoming club which upholds the traditional values of the game.
Perran-ar-Worthal currently fields three teams in the Cornwall Cricket League (County Division 1,& Divisions 5 & 7 West respectively) and regularly competes in the local Andrew and Vinter Cup competitions and midweek Mining Evening League. The Club also participates in the nPower Village Cup competition.
Further details relating to membership, teams, fixtures and results may be found elsewhere on this site.
Welcome to PERRAN-AR-WORTHAL and thank you for visiting our website.
